About the Poconos

Major Highways, Interstates, and Transportation

There are two US highways that serve the Pocono Mountains: Route 209 and US Route 6. Route 209 is the most used highway, joining the states of Pennsylvania and New York. US Route 6 is largest transcontinental state highway in the United States, spanning California to Massachusetts. It is predominantly comprised of scenic two-lane rural highway.

In addition to these two main highways, the Poconos Region is also served by Interstate 80, Interstate 380, Interstate 81, and Interstate 95.
