Bar/Tavern Liability
If you or someone you love has been seriously injured in a collision with a drunk driver, you may be eligible for compensation from the bar or tavern that supplied the alcohol. In order to be held at least partially liable, however, the bar or tavern must be shown to have been negligent in providing alcohol to the driver. Such negligence can be relatively easy to demonstrate, as in cases involving the sale of alcohol to an underage patron. It can be more challenging, but is still quite possible in many cases, to show that the bar or tavern supplied alcohol to someone who was clearly intoxicated and that, therefore, the establishment should have reasonably foreseen the accident. If you have been involved in a collision with a drunk driver and are unsure as to whether a bar or tavern might share liability for your injuries, please contact our automobile accident attorneys in Scranton, Milford and Stroudsburg today.
